The James W. Washington, Jr. and Janie Rogella Washington Foundation was created in 1997 to preserve the art, writing, and lifetime works of Dr. James W. Washington, Jr. and to share his vision through the interpretation and showing of his artwork, studio, family garden, and home.
The Washington House and Studio are open for tours by appointment, Tuesday - Friday, 11 am to 3 pm. We must limit groups to ten people or less, due to the intimate size of the residence. We would love to give you a brief tour of the house and garden, share some of the history of the Washingtons and explain the plans of the Foundation.
Contributions to the Foundation will benefit its ongoing efforts to preserve and make publicly accessible the Washington art collection and archives, to support youth programs and emerging artists, and to present research and public programs focused on James W. Washington. Jr.’s contribution to American art.
Your involvement will help to inspire others to join us in supporting the important work of the Foundation. Your donations can help support the Foundation's programs and initiatives and honor the legacy of this renowned American artist.
Contributions can be for general support or earmarked for a specific program area and are fully tax-deductible to the extent allowed by current law.
