Elder Arts

Picture
In 2012, the Cultural Center’s Elder Arts Program began providing education in senior centers throughout King County. The program’s goal is to continue to expand awareness of the art of James Washington, as well as the artwork created in the Studio’s Artists-in-Residence program.

The series of presentations features the art of James Washington and the artwork of the Studio’s Artists in Residence, as well as historic perspectives on the impact of James Washington’s social justice work in the community. In addition, seniors will be invited to participate in the “Summer in the Garden” program, during which time; they will partake in guided tours of the Washington museum house and garden.
